Abstract
Language use is very important in writing literature. The beauty of literature lies in language use as it explores
writers’
thoughts, intentions and the motivating force behind writing any literary piece. In language use focus is made on the style, diction, tone, figurative expression and clarity of a good write up adapting these elements to the reading audience. Literature, which is a reflect of society, performs a number of functions ranging from satirizing, in inculcate good habits through its three genres drama, poetry and prose. The most recent and  perhaps the most germane function being performed by literature in our society today is the valuable assistance rendered to the female folk. This is done by exposing areas of oppression against women in the society through productions that are gender inclined. In this paper however, particular attention is made on language use and feminist issues as exemplified in  Nawal El S adawi’s women at point zero
and how we can join hand in promoting the right of women by fighting for our right to overcome oppression under male domination.

CHAPTER ONE INTRODUCTION
Human have the capacity to use complex language for more than any other species on earth. We cooperate with each other to use language for communicating. Language is often used to communicate about and even construct and maintain our social world. Language use and human sociality are inseparable parts of Homo sapiens as a biological species. Osisanwo (2003) has defined language as human vocal noise or the arbitrary graphic representation of this noise used systematically and community for purpose of communication. By this definition, language is characterized by a set of vocal sound which can be decoded based on the agreement set by the speech community. Each language has its own system which has to be mastered before one can be adjudged to be competent in its usage. Language use refers to the communicative meaning of language. It can be compared to usage, which refers to the rules for making language and the structures we use to make it. To communicate effectively, it is not enough to have well organized ideas expressed in complete and coherent sentences and paragraphs. One must also think about the style, tone and clarity of his reading audience. Language use to integrate our reactions, test our responses against the text, express our feelings and opinion in an organized manner and use evidence from the text to support the
reader’s views. Using the procedure of analysis, i.e Analysis, Appreciation and Evaluation, Reader’s responses will be better organized by studying the important elements of the work.

Language is part of style. Diction is an aspect of language, which means the actual choice of words. In literary language, words occur in association with other words to reveal different levels of meanings most especially in poetry. These words occur in contextual or connotative meanings on the one hand and deep or denotative meanings on the other; these are portrayed in the use of languages easily identifiable as metaphor, simile, oxymoron, hyperbole, irony, etc. These words, in association, evoke some mental imagery and therefore produce some immediate and emotional effects on the reader. These are part of the form and meaning to be
analyzed, interpreted and evaluated in practical criticism. Style reveals the writer’s attitude,
towards himself, his reader and toward his
subject. The writer’s attitudes are reflected in the
tone. English is known to be the lingua franca in Nigeria the reason been that it is widely acceptable by the general public and it performs so many functions. Be it educationally socially and the likes. It is the language to be reckoned with. Therefore English language is used in carrying out this research and to communicate effectively in English, the rule of grammar must be strongly adhered to. So the use of language is very relevant to English. The influence of context parameters on language use is usually studied in terms of language variation, style or register. The basic assumption here is that language use makes use of intonation, lexical choice, syntax and other aspects of formulation to the current communicative situation. In this sense, language use may be more or less appropriate in a given context.
BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
It is not surprising to know that we are living in a male dominated world where only men has the say in all ramification of life be it politically, educationally, religiously, socially and all the likes. Some men have indeed gone to the extreme. Women are relegated to the
background they don’t have freedom of expression like the men. No wonder it is said that “women are to be seen and to be heard” women faced all kind of ill treatment from
most men. They violently maltreated them, abuse them sexually, and deprived them of their so many rights. In fact they are oppressed and subjugated just because of their gender.  No wonder some feminist writers speak through literature, campaigns discourses seminars and the likes in order to control the problems facing women today. This brings about feminism. According to English oxford living dictionary
defines feminism as the advocacy of women’s
rights on the ground of the equality of the sexes.
